When our son passed away, we were devastated. In our grief, we felt we had a choice; to collapse and die inside or make a difference. We became determined to turn our tragedy into something positive. Initially, we decided to host a community birthday party called Daniel "The Lion" Day to celebrate our precious son's life, other children that have gone to soon and the community that supported us through our tough time.
What transpired next was an event that took on a life of it's own and has inspired a movement of generosity and genuine community service.
Through this, we have found that the best way to overcome hardship and grief is to serve others without agenda.
We pray that those we encounter see a real life example of healing through community service and that good things can always be found in the most challenging circumstances.
